Our History
The Village Restaurant started out as a "Pie House" on old Hwy 99 in Marysville in 1937 and lines would form around the restaurant daily to have a slice of pie as no pies were sold for take out.
Once I-5 was built, it was apparent that they needed to be close to the main travel route through town as so many out of town guests made The Village Restaurant a "must see" stop during their travels. The restaurant was rebuilt there as a small cafe next to I-5 at exit 199 where we are located today.
We've gone through multiple expansions but continue the traditions passed down from the founders of always serving a great home-cooked meal made from scratch with outstanding service where we make it our business to learn your name and welcome you back time and again.
Everyday we enjoy hearing stories about everyone's first visit to the Village Restaurant or how they stop here every time they come past Marysville. Many come in because they first enjoyed a slice of pie at the World's Fair.
